Things werent that bad though I may not be driving, I still travel around by bus and I find it convenient to have short trip too! I usually book my bus trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via EasyBook; however, I was surprised that bus from Singapore to Penang was equally convenient and its full of availability! I was so excited as it was my first trip to Penang although my friends had been complementing the delicacies and great places to visit in Penang; hence my backpack was instantly prepared once the ticket was booked!
Few hours of the bus trip is no longer a bother for me as I found it is quite interesting to watch outside from the inside of bus: the sea view of Singapore Bridge, the green landscapes and the interesting merchants along the highway of Malaysia that sell interesting merchandises! Above all the these, I can leave all my coursework assignment in Singapore during the trip!
Excuse my knowledge of geography, however, I felt the length of Penang Bridge was approximately the same; however sea view from the Penang Bridge was vast and I could see the deep horizon where the sea meets the sky! The view was truly impressive and I wished that I could jump off from the bus and take a lot of selfies on the Penang Bridge!
First stop in Penang is to visit the beach at Batu Ferringhi, it's not the best beach that I've visited but it got me in surprised that Penang actually has such a beautiful beach. Not too crowded but it makes you feel cosy with the breeze, children are running around. After the beach, I headed to Strait Quey, a place where my friends told me that I should visit, the moment I was there, I know why, it's beautiful, I love the western side of Penang, it makes me feel I'm in a city whereby it's full of different culture.
After all the sea site seeing, I then move on to the city of Penang. Took some time to admire those beautiful wall arts along the Penang street. The wall art are really creative, I've seen them on the internet and I thought it was just some normal street art, but it blew my mind how human mind and hand can be so creative and talented. Let me show you some of them that I think really cute and creative.
The street art took most of my time during in the day, so i decided to take a break and have some street food. Please forgive me as I am not a food blogger, however, the delicacies of Penang were truly impressive and they are well deserved as world renowned! During the trip, I tried few delicious food, like duck rice, oyster pancake, also my favourite Char Kuey Tiao and Asam Laksa.
I then headed to the famous Kek Lok Si temple, the MUST visit place. With all the lights and decoration makes the place much more beautiful and also the light breeze. I thought about living there for forever.
I found that two days trip wasnt enough to understand more about Penang as there are plenty of unique experiences are only found in Penang. It was my first Penang trip but it was also one of my best trips and I already planned for another trip to Penang before I was heading back to Singapore.
Penang, where I found state is a harmonious blend of traditional and modernity: tall modern buildings and yet there are classical streets and houses that meet along the roads! The locals of Penang are very friendly as instead of they gave me clear directions when I was confused, they as well suggested the places and foods of must in Penang.
